ISWI Newsletter - Vol.2 No.26 12 March 2010
Dear ISWI Participant:
Recently, NASA launched an important research satellite called "Solar Dynamics Observatory" (SDO).
NASA's pre-launch press kit is attached for your information. (Received from Dr Haubold in Vienna.)
With regards to SDO, Dr Haubold makes the following points:
- This satellite mission is an outstanding follow-up to SOHO.
- It is the space-based observatory for space weather (NASA's Living With a Star Programme).
- One could view ISWI as the ground-based component of space weather.
My fellow ISWI Participants: We are living in exciting times! (Not quite like the "Race to The Moon" ... but close enough for me.)
