The fourth African Geophysical Society Conference will be held at Cataract Pyramids Resort. The resort, 5 star international standar hotel, is located on the road to Sakkara towards the oldest made structure - The step Pyramids of Sakkara, and less than 40 minutes from Cairo International airport.

2. 2nd African Space Generation Workshop (AF-SGW) 17÷18 December 2018
Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC), a non-governmental, non-profit, is raising funds to support top African students and young professionals to attend its 2nd African Space Generation Workshop (AF-SGW) to be held on 17-18 December 2018 in Mauritius. SGAC has selected the best students and young professionals from all across Africa for an intense 2-day workshop with lectures, panel discussions, and working group sessions. This is a unique and only gathering in the African space sector where the youth have the opportunity to contribute to the future of African space (previous workshop outcomes have been presented at the United Nations) as well as network with senior academics, industry executives, government representatives, policy makers, researchers, entrepreneurs and business experts from Africa and elsewhere.
As a non-profit organization run by volunteers, our events are entirely supported by sponsors and donors. We have already raised funds to conduct the workshop from a number of sponsors including Lockheed Martin in USA, Centre for Atmospheric Research (CAR) in Nigeria, Jeff Demain from Hantheon in USA, and NewSpace Systems, South Africa. This campaign is raising funds specifically to support our young delegates, many of whom are unable to fund their stay in Mauritius.

3. Chukwuka Cosmas Ezenma – CBSS Research Grant for African Students in Space Science and Astronomy 2018/2019 Call Opens All applications will Close on 30th Nov. 2018
Chukwuka Cosmas Ezenma-CBSS research grant for African students in space science and astronomy offers grants in favor of African students and researchers including Nigerians in order to develop capacity in space science and technology, Electronics Engineering, Astronomy and Astrophysics, foster international, cultural, scientific and technological cooperation in Africa. The grant is designed to support bold and visionary African students and researchers who are undertaking a postgraduateprogram related to space science, technology and astronomy. Potential applicants should NOT be more than 32 years of age as at the time of the application. The candidate must be committed to Africa’s development and demonstrate outstanding academic and professional achievement, as well as effective team work and leadership potential. Grants are offered to pursue study, training, and/or research programs at any Higher Educational/Research Institution in Africa, international conferences and workshops.

4. RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES AT CENTRE FOR ATMOSPHERIC RESEARCH (CAR)
As a way of promoting highly applicable research in the field of atmospheric/space science, The Centre for Atmospheric Research is opening new opportunities for graduate students (mostly Masters and PhD) registered in Nigerian universities to visit the Space Environment Research Laboratory (SERL) and carry out 1-month intensive research activities within the laboratory.
