ISWI Newsletter - Vol.6 No.010
22 January 2014

Dear ISWI Participant:

The "International Center for Space Weather Science and Education" (at Kyushu University, Japan) is proudly providing some capacity building for the persons who take care of our MAGDAS magnetometers in Nigeria, Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, and Mozambique.

For four straight days, we will instruct them on many aspects of ground-based geomagnetic observation -- how it is done, where it is done, when it is done, and why it is done.

I attach some photos that were taken yesterday; we are delighted that these young men from Africa ask a lot of questions.

At the beginning, we asked each trainee to make a self-introduction. You can see their notes on one of the white boards. I asked them to jot down all the ISWI events and MAGDAS events that they have attended. We have a really good group of trainees here.

Sincerely,
George Maeda
