As you may have heard, the 50th session took place from Feb 11 to Feb 22, and has just concluded in Vienna. I attach three batches of photos to illustrate what it was like. These photos are just samples the tip of a large iceberg.
1st batch I took these at the Rotunda -- perhaps shown here are half of the posters. There many SCOSTEP/CAWSES-II posters, from many countries: Japan, Bulgaria, Norway, India, Canada, Germany, Slovakia, Korea, Austria, and more. There was also a large ILWS booth here. Why not put up your poster here next year?
2nd batch This is a collage of 48 random photos, to show to you the atmosphere of this lively session, which consists of a long series (10 days) of technical presentations, national statements, coffee breaks, sumptuous receptions and dinners, cocktail parties, formal discussions, informal discussions, early breakfasts, etc. This was the daily routine. However, the topics varied and so the 50th session stayed quite exciting -- especially this time with the asteroid-related developments.
There was much said and done about ISWI -- this will be covered in future issues of the ISWI Newsletter. Stay tuned, please.
Webmaster Notes: All Technical Presentations (February 12–19, 2013) are available from here.
3rd batch I had the pleasure of visiting the central market of Vienna. This is a collage of 54 random photos. I took the walk with Dr Mangala Sharma of the United States Department of State. She is in some of these photos. Be sure to make a visit to this vibrant open-air market on your next trip to Vienna.
Something delicious awaits you there!
Respectfully and most faithfully yours,
