As many of you are aware, COPUOS consists of two subcommittees: (1) Scientific and Technical Subcommittee, and (2) Legal Subcommittee. The first meets in February while the second meets in April.
From the second meeting (Legal Subcommittee) is the attached presentation from the Japanese delegation. As a member of the Japanese delegation back in February of this year, I am pleased to say (see page 3 of the attached pdf) that Keio University established (last year April) its "Center for Space Law".
Please note that around the same time in Japan Kyushu University established its "International Center for Space Weather Science and Education", which is the publisher of this newsletter.
Between these two centers, Japan continues to contribute to the multifaceted objectives of COPUOS -- which embodies the peaceful exploitation of space for the benefit of all mankind.
