Dr David F. Webb (address is to the right) has asked me to send out the following IAU announcement.
The International Astronomical Union (IAU) has a Division (II) Working Group (WG) on "International Collaboration on Space Weather". The main goal of this WG is to provide a clearinghouse of information on space weather organizations and activities in countries around the world. As the Chair of this WG, I am requesting brief summaries of space weather organizations and activities from those of you who are involved in such efforts in your country. This information can be in the form of a document, an online link and/or email correspondence. Please provide complete contact information. With your approval, this information will then be posted on our online internet site. This effort is in preparation for the IAU General Assembly to be held in Beijing, China August 20-31, 2012. Thus, I would appreciate receiving your inputs as soon as possible. I will be hosting an informal meeting of the WG in Beijing at the General Assembly on the morning of August 23 in Room 403 at the Conference Center. Please let me know if you will be attending the GA and might want to attend this meeting and possibly give a short presentation on your country's space weather activities. | |
Regards,
David Webb Chair, IAU DII Working Group on "International Collaboration on Space Weather" |
