ISWI Newsletter - Vol.4 No.96
18 August 2012

Dear ISWI Participant:

Each year the International Center for Space Weather Science and Education (ICSWSE) takes part in the HIRAMEKI TOKIMEKI SCIENCE program of JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science read more).

Subtitle of it is:
"Welcome to a University Research Lab-Science That Inspires".

This program is described by JSPS as follows:
"Established in FY 2005, this program offers opportunities for school children to better understand the meaning of science and its role in their daily lives by visiting and experiencing firsthand a university laboratory. During these visits, the results of research supported by Grants-in-Aid for Scientific Research (Kakenhi) are described in easy-to-understand language. The aim of the program is to promote science study and ultimately to advance research by stimulating the intellectual curiosity of the young participants while cultivating in them a rich sense of creativity, along with a keen awareness of science's cultural value and societal importance."

Recently, we did our hirameki here by inviting school children to ICSWSE for a few hours to "show them the fun of science".

Faithfully in the Service of ISWI,
