ISWI Newsletter - Vol.3 No.64 06 July 2011
Dear ISWI Participant:
I have been asked to circulate the attached paper by R P Kane of
INPE, Brazil.
On a different matter: This month NASA is conducting the "Daytime Dynamo Experiment" off the East Coast of the USA. The experiment consists of four NASA sounding rockets and ground-based magnetometers (one is provided by Prof Yumoto's SERC, on the island of Bermuda). The purpose of the experiment is to study the ionospheric dynamo and the nature of daytime atmospheric neutral winds at altitudes of 90-150 km. Two days ago, two of Prof. Yumoto's grad students (Mr Hasegawa and Mr Huzaimy) successfully installed our magnetometer at Bermuda with the generous support of Bermuda College and Bermuda National Museum.
