The International Space Weather Initiative (ISWI) Space Weather School is going to take place in Kathmandu, Nepal from September 16-20, 2024. The Nepal Physical Society is hosting the event with sponsors and partners including SCOSTEP/PRESTO, COSPAR, NSF, PSP, CfA, BC, and NASA. ISWI is an international cooperative of government agencies and universities to advance space weather science by combining physical modeling and analysis of space weather data from space-based instruments in conjunction with other ground-based data, and the communication of such results. The ISWI school is targeted for fifty pre-grad and graduate students participating from Nepal and neighboring countries.
One-week space weather school activities will provide a wonderful opportunity for participants to explore interests and expand their knowledge engagingly and enjoyably from expert scientists with a defined curriculum. The school focuses on topics ranging from the solar dynamo to the heliosphere’s interaction, space weather impacts, and observational technologies.
Partial funding (either airfare or hotel/meals) will be provided as needed.
