Dear ISWI Participant:

I attach with great delight a technical report with the following title:

Autonomous Adaptive Low-Power Instrument Platform (AAL-PIP)
Project: Interhemispheric Geomagnetic Field Investigations Along the 400 Magnetic Meridian

This report was written by Dr Hyomin Kim of the "Center for Space Science and Engineering Research" at Virginia Tech in the United States (home page). (I had the pleasure of meeting him during "2012 AGU Fall Meeting" in San Francisco, CA, USA, and during the "2012 ULTIMA General Meeting" in the same city.)

This report primarily covers the installation of data-acquisition equipment (designed for space weather research activities) in the Antarctic -- and contains superb photos of the installation in this challenging environment. (Hyomin and VT team: "Great job!!!" )

I hope you will download the pdf and have a look at the terrific work undertaken by the AAL-PIP Project. We can look forward to some good science from it, I am sure.
